Professor Wanlei Zhou, Vice President of City University of Macau, led a delegation of the Institute of Data Science to visit the Macau Science Center on July 8 this year. The visiting team was accompanied by Hon Pan Sio, Curator of the Macau Science Museum, Hung Fat Cheong, Vice Curator, and Sio In Cheong Director of the Public Relations Department. The Planetarium and Exhibition Center of the Macau Science Center. 

 

Professor Wanlei Zhou positively commented that the Science Center is committed to cultivating students' scientific literacy, establishing a scientific and cultural atmosphere for students, and cultivating students' scientific literacy. Hon Pan Sio, the Curator also agrees with the City University of Macau’s Institute of Data Science in cultivating leading talents in data science and looks forward to carrying out relevant exchanges in the scientific field with the Institute of Data Science. The City University of Macau Data Science Institute and the Science Center are very much looking forward to working together in the future to complement each other's strengths and support each other; to carry out exchanges and cooperation on data science, to further expand scientific inquiry, and to better motivate students to actively learn and apply science. 

 

During the visit, curator Hon Pan Sio led the visiting team to tour various exhibition halls and introduced the high-tech equipment in the Macau Science Center allowing students to experience the positive effects of high-tech and yearn for scientific inquiry, thereby developing an objective and Rational way of thinking. In addition, the visiting team was introduced to the planetarium’s equipment and science popularization work, and a wonderful astronomical program was used to demonstrate the better visual effects of the planetarium’s recently updated projection system.
