Australian Students Visit City University of Macau Again, as Two Universities Jointly Build an International Learning Platform

To deepen international academic cooperation and promote the internationalization of higher education in Macau, the Faculty of Data Science at City University of Macau and the School of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University (Australia) have launched a student exchange program since 2024. Assisted by City University of Macau’s International Training and Testing Center, the program focuses on technological innovation and cultural experience, providing an international exchange and learning platform for students from both universities.

A new phase of the program was officially launched recently. This year, 8 outstanding students from Griffith University’s School of Information and Communication Technology visited City University of Macau. The Center specially organized a welcome event themed "Make Friends with CityU Macau" to kick off this year’s exchange program.

Held on November 6th at City University of Macau’s Taipa Campus, the event invited Mr. Hui Guojie from Dynamic Sky as the mentor. It also attracted nearly 20 current City University of Macau students to participate.

The event was conducted in group format, allowing participants to communicate, exert creativity, and solve challenges together through games. This enhanced mutual understanding, trust, and familiarity, fostering interaction and comprehension between the two groups.

The entire learning program lasts approximately 10 weeks, with research and experience as the core. During this period, the Australian students will participate in research projects, lectures, and workshops arranged by City University of Macau’s Faculty of Data Science and the Center. They will also attend regular City University of Macau classes as "City University of Macau members," auditing courses in Tourism and MICE to experience the university’s learning atmosphere and exchange ideas with City University of Macau’s faculty and students.

In addition, the Center will arrange special cultural visits, enabling the 8 Australian students (visiting Macau for the first time) to explore Macau’s cultural and historical heritage alongside City University of Macau students. They will gain an understanding of Macau’s unique blend of Chinese and Western cultures and daily life scenes. Through a series of exchanges, interactions, and mutual recognition, the program aims to strengthen the connection between the Australian students and City University of Macau, making them learning partners during their time at the university.
