Congratulations! CityU Macau Students Win Special Prize at the 10th Greater Bay Area IT Application System Development Competition Finals

Organized jointly by the Guangzhou Association for Science and Technology, Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology, and Hong Kong Young IT Network, and hosted by the Guangdong High Performance Computing Society and Guangzhou Greater Bay Area Intelligent Technology Talents Federation, the "10th Greater Bay Area IT Application System Development Competition Finals and Award Ceremony" was recently held in Nansha, Guangzhou. The entry from City University of Macau (CityU Macau), titled "Huixin Yingfu — Intelligent Recognition and Diagnosis System for Coronary Angiography," stood out prominently and claimed the Special Prize (Silver Medal) and the Technological Innovation Pioneer Award.

The award-winning team from CityU Macau consists of four students from the Faculty of Data Science: Tian Xingyuan, Li Dongxiao, Lü Weiyi, and Li Boxi. Guided by Associate Professor Liu Wenjian and Assistant Professor Jing Fengshi, the team developed the AI-driven coronary angiography detection and diagnosis system "Huixin Yingfu." Having won the Merit Award in the Macau Division, the team represented Macau in the national finals. After intense competitions including project presentations, system demonstrations, expert inquiries, poster displays, and video promotions, "Huixin Yingfu" achieved another success and was ultimately awarded the Special Prize (Silver Medal).

This year’s competition featured 10 divisions (tracks), attracting over 1,500 participants who submitted 322 projects. The entries covered nearly 60 universities and 11 enterprises, with close to 500 experts participating in the guidance. Among them, 40 projects advanced to the finals, spanning more than 30 intelligent technology fields. The final evaluation resulted in 1 Gold Medal, 3 Silver Medals, 7 Bronze Medals, and the remaining teams receiving First and Second Prizes.

Team’s Reflections:

"We are deeply honored to represent CityU Macau and win the Special Prize and Technological Innovation Pioneer Award at the 10th Greater Bay Area IT Application System Development Competition Finals. This honor belongs to all team members, and we owe it to the meticulous guidance of our three mentors — Associate Dean Liu Wenjian, Assistant Professor Jing Fengshi, and Chief Physician Jin Wen — as well as the broad platform provided by the Faculty of Data Science. Looking back on the preparation process, we constantly refined ourselves amid the challenges of algorithm iteration and application implementation, striving to transform academic research into warm and practical application outcomes. The Technological Innovation Pioneer Award is the greatest recognition of our exploration in leveraging technology to create social value. Just as running water competes not only for speed but also for continuity, this award is both a milestone and a new starting point. In the future, we will continue to uphold the spirit of pragmatism and innovation, rooted in the Greater Bay Area, and commit to transforming technology into productivity, contributing the strength of CityU Macau’s youth to the development of intelligent applications."
