CCF Macau Member Activity Center Established; CityU Scholars Serve as Inaugural Executive and Supervisory Committee Members



The inaugural ceremony of the China Computer Federation (CCF) Macau Member Activity Center (hereinafter referred to as “CCF Macau”) was recently held at the City University of Macau. This marks the 47th CCF member activity center nationwide. CCF Secretary-General Tang Weiqing, headquarters representatives, members of Macau’s academic and industry communities, and representatives from various CCF member activity centers across the Greater Bay Area attended the event to witness the official establishment of CCF Macau.

 

On the same day, the “Blockchain and Intelligent Security Forum” was held at the Ho Yin Convention Centre on CityU’s Taipa campus. The forum focused on cutting-edge developments and practical applications of blockchain technology, injecting fresh vitality into academic exchange, industry-education integration, and technological innovation in the field.

 

The establishment ceremony was chaired by Zhu Tianqing, Secretary-General of CCF Macau and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Data Science at City University of Macau. In his address, Cui Shiping, President of the Macau Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology, emphasized the need to accelerate academic exchange, deepen industry-academia-research collaboration, and build an important professional exchange platform between Macau and the Mainland.

 

Li Bei, Director of the CCF Membership Department, introduced the history, organizational culture, strategic layout, and long-term vision of CCF in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

 

During the ceremony, the inaugural list of Executive Committee and Supervisory Committee members of CCF Macau was announced, with appointment certificates presented by Secretary-General Tang Weiqing. Professor Zhou Wanlei, Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Data Science at City University of Macau, serves as the inaugural Chairman. The Vice Chairmen are Professor Cai Zhanchuan from Macau University of Science and Technology and Mr. Xu Deming, Chairman of Macau MTel Telecommunication Company Limited. Associate Deans Zhu Tianqing and Liu Wenjian from the Faculty of Data Science serve as Secretary-General and Supervisor, respectively.

 

Subsequently, the Executive and Supervisory Committee members discussed the center’s future development, pledging to create distinctive Macau-branded activities, build bridges between Mainland China and Macau as well as between Macau and international academic organizations, and contribute to the high-quality development of the global computing field.

 

In the afternoon, the “Blockchain and Intelligent Security Forum,” co-organized by the CCF Blockchain Professional Committee and co-hosted by the Faculty of Data Science at City University of Macau with support from multiple enterprises and associations, brought together top experts, scholars, industry professionals, and university faculty, and students from home and abroad. Participants expressed hope that Macau can serve as a hub to pool resources and promote coordinated development of the blockchain ecosystem.

 

The forum featured keynote speeches covering key areas of blockchain technology, including “Haihe Xinchuan Blockchain Technology and Applications,” “Research and Practice of Blockchain Cryptography,” latest research progress in blockchain, blockchain-based cybersecurity service trading models, and sharding fault-tolerance technology, offering attendees rich insights into frontier achievements and practical experience while fostering industry consensus on technological innovation, standard setting, and cross-sector integration.
