From October 24 to 25, 2026, the faculty of Data Science at City University of Macau organized a delegation of 20 faculty members and more than 20 students to attend the 9th Academic Conference on Big Data Security and Privacy Computing and the 2nd Academic Conference on Privacy Computing in Shenzhen.During the conference, the Faculty hosted a thematic forum on “Data Security,” featuring presentations by eight invited experts. The participation and organization of the forum strengthened academic ties between City University of Macau and other universities and research institutions, creating opportunities for future research collaboration in data security and privacy computing. The event also provided faculty members and students with valuable opportunities to explore cutting-edge research developments, exchange academic insights, and gain inspiration for their future research and studies. The two academic conferences were jointly held in Shenzhen from October 23 to 26, 2026. They were organized by the Big Data Security and Privacy Computing Committee of the Chinese Information Processing Society of China and the Editorial Office of the Journal on Communications, respectively. The conferences were jointly hosted by the Institute of Cyberspace Security, Faculty of Computing, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), and the Faculty of Cyberspace Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology. The Faculty of Data Science at City University of Macau served as one of the co-organizers.
The 9th Academic Conference on Big Data Security and Privacy Computing was held under the theme “Privacy Computing as the Driving Force, Data Security as the Foundation, and Artificial Intelligence as the Enabler: Building a New Ecosystem for Data Circulation and Utilization.” The conference focused on academic discussions concerning privacy computing, data security, and AI security. Its program featured keynote presentations, thematic forums, and closed-door discussions, addressing key topics such as personal information protection, secure data circulation, and the practical applications of related technologies. The thematic forum on “Data Security” was held on the morning of October 25, chaired by Dean Zhu Tianqing, with Program Coordinators Ying Zuobin and Liu Chi taking primary responsibility for its preparation and organization. Focusing on data security, the forum explored a range of related topics, including security verification of protocols, AI-generated content security and provenance tracing, data protection in mobile networks, and privacy-preserving learning.
