On the morning of October 26, 2026, the Huawei ICT Competition 2026–2027 Macao Roadshow was held in the lobby of the Ho Yin Convention Centre at City University of Macau. The event aimed to introduce students to the competition arrangements and participation details, helping them gain a better understanding of the competition categories and learning resources in the field of information and communications technology (ICT). It also encouraged students to apply their classroom knowledge in practice and enhance their professional skills and practical competencies.
The Macao edition of this year’s competition is jointly organized by Huawei, the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, and the Macao Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology. The Higher Education Category features two tracks: Network and Computing. Participants may select one track based on their academic backgrounds and interests. The Network Track covers data communication, network security, and wireless local area networks (WLAN), while the Computing Track focuses on technologies such as openEuler, openGauss, and Kunpeng. Both tracks provide students with opportunities to explore relevant technologies and assess their learning outcomes.
To prepare for the competition, students can follow the registration guidelines to create a Huawei account, complete their competition registration, and select their preferred track. They can also access relevant courses and learning materials through the “Learning Space” platform to support their studies and competition preparation. By combining coursework with competition practice, students can further consolidate their professional knowledge, become familiar with practical applications of relevant technologies, and prepare for the upcoming competition.
According to the competition schedule, the preliminary round for the Higher Education Category will take place online on November 15, 2026. The Macao Final and Awards Ceremony will be held at the Macao Science Center on December 12. The subsequent Asia-Pacific Regional Competition and Global Final are scheduled for March and May 2027, respectively, providing participating students with opportunities to exchange ideas and technical expertise with peers from different regions.
The Faculty of Data Science encourages students to explore the competition in line with their academic studies and personal interests, make full use of the available learning resources, and deepen their understanding of professional knowledge throughout the preparation process. Through participation, students can strengthen their practical problem-solving abilities, broaden their technical perspectives, and gain valuable hands-on experience.
