In order to closely cooperate with the major needs of national and industry development as well as regional economic construction, and to cultivate composite professional talents to serve the development of Macau's industry, City University of Macau has established a research partnership with Zhuhai Obit Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. The two sides have signed a joint construction agreement for the "Space Time Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Joint Laboratory".
The agreement signing ceremony was held on December 1, 2022, at the City University of Macau. Academician Jun Yan, Chairman of Zhuhai Orbita Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd., and President Jun Liu of the City University of Macau signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. At the same venue, a ceremony was held to appoint Academician Jun Yan as a distinguished professor at City University of Macau. Subsequently, both sides held discussions on scientific research, industry academia research, talent cultivation, and the construction of domestic and international exchange platforms.
President Jun Liu warmly welcomed the arrival of Academician Jun Yan and his delegation and introduced the historical evolution and educational achievements of the City University of Macau. City University of Macau firmly grasps the opportunities of the times, benchmarks and promotes the moderate diversification of the four major industries in Macau's economy, develops new humanities and social sciences supported by big data technology, closely follows the talent needs of regional and national development, strengthens industry university research exchanges with universities, enterprises and institutions in the Greater Bay Area, and will use joint laboratories as a platform to carry out scientific research projects and project cooperation with Zhuhai Obit Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd., jointly cultivate talents, and carry out academic achievement exchanges and exhibition activities.
