In order to closely cooperate with the major needs of national and industry development as well as regional economic construction, and to cultivate composite professional talents to serve the development of Macao's industry, City University of Macao has established a research partnership with Zhuhai Obit Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. The two sides have signed a joint construction agreement for the "Space Time Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Joint Laboratory". 

 

The agreement signing ceremony was held on December 1, 2022, at the City University of Macau. Academician Yan Jun, Chairman of Zhuhai Orbita Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd., and Rector Liu Jun of the City University of Macau signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. At the same venue, a ceremony was held to appoint Academician Yan Jun as a distinguished professor at CityU. Subsequently, both sides held discussions on scientific research, industry academia research, talent cultivation, and the construction of domestic and international exchange platforms. 

Rector Liu Jun warmly welcomed the arrival of Academician Yan Jun and his delegation and introduced the historical evolution and educational achievements of the City University of Macau. City University of Macau firmly grasps the opportunities of the times, benchmarks and promotes the moderate diversification of the four major industries in Macau's economy, develops new humanities and social sciences supported by big data technology, closely follows the talent needs of regional and national development, strengthens industry university research exchanges with universities, enterprises and institutions in the Greater Bay Area, and will use joint laboratories as a platform to carry out scientific research projects and project cooperation with Zhuhai Obit Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd., jointly cultivate talents, and carry out academic achievement exchanges and exhibition activities. 

 

Academician Yan Jun thanked Rector Liu Jun for his warm reception and briefly introduced the development overview, industry characteristics, and future development of Zhuhai Obit Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. He hopes to expand more exchanges and cooperation with the City University of Macau in scientific research, industry university research application, and other fields in the future. 

 

Both parties look forward to jointly seizing the development opportunities of the sky big data industry, based on the principles of "complementary advantages, market leadership, resource sharing, collaborative innovation, and win-win development", leveraging the advantages of industrial agglomeration in the Greater Bay Area, achieving complementary advantages in resource integration, technological breakthroughs, industry university research applications, talent cultivation, and other fields, establishing a comprehensive and deep long-term cooperation, jointly building a model for school enterprise cooperation innovation, empowering the remote sensing data application industry in the Greater Bay Area, and contributing to the high-quality construction of scientific and technological innovation and talent cultivation in the Greater Bay Area.
