On October 19, 2024, the Macau Youth ESG Business Challenge Finals was successfully held at the Venetian Macau Cotai Expo and Convention Center. This challenge aims to inspire young people’s attention and enthusiasm for sustainable development issues and cultivate their innovative thinking and practical abilities in the field of ESG (environment, society and governance).
In this competition, the team of the Faculty of Data Science of City University of Macau is composed of four senior students majoring in intelligent technology and services - Zhang Huaixin (captain), Shi Xueru, Xu Huiwen and Ng Pang Ka. Led by the instructor Lecturer Dr. Chan Sao I Cecilia, the team stood out among the 32 participating teams and finally won the runner-up with its innovative project "New World Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction System - Innovative Application of Micro-hydro Power Generation System in Large-scale Projects in Macau".
The topic of this competition focuses on the innovative application of micro-waterpower generation systems, demonstrating the team's outstanding creativity and practical capabilities in the field of sustainable development. Their achievements reflect the excellent teamwork spirit and have contributed significantly to promoting the practice of ESG concepts in Macau.
