The Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Macau Station Awards Ceremony was successfully held on December 16th in the conference hall of the Science Museum. The event gathered more than 200 participants, including government and institutional representatives, representatives from the technology industry, and teachers and students from 19 local universities, to discuss topics such as talent cultivation and enhancing the competitiveness of local technology talents, and to commend the winning teams of this competition.
Under the guidance of Associate Professor Zuobin Ying, three students from the Faculty of Data Science at City University of Macau, Yunsong Fang, Qiyue Yan, and Yinuo Zhang, stood out from over 600 participants and advanced to the finals. They ultimately won the first prize in the university group of the network track and will represent the Macau team in the Asia Pacific regional competition next year, competing with top students in the region for the highest honor in the Huawei Global ICT Competition.
The Huawei ICT Competition is an annual ICT competition for global university students created by Huawei. The competition is themed "Connection, Glory, Future" and with the slogan "I. C. The Future", aiming to create an international competitive and exchange platform for university students worldwide. The Macau station of this competition will be held from October to December. The competition is divided into three stages: the Macau regional competition, the Asia Pacific regional competition, and the global competition. Participating students will compete from both theoretical and practical aspects through the network and cloud based practical tracks. The Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Macau Station focuses on current popular cutting-edge technology fields such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, 5G communication, cloud computing, etc. The middle school group has added virtual experiments to its content, combining physical scene solutions with theoretical knowledge. Through a team of three students and one guiding teacher, they work together to solve problems in practical situations and cultivate students' innovative and creative abilities in using new technologies and platforms.
The organizer hopes that through this competition, students can come into contact with and understand the ICT industry, enhance their practical and application skills and innovation awareness, improve their ICT knowledge level and practical hands-on ability, and promote the diversified development of Macau's technology industry, cultivating more outstanding technology talents in Macau.

Yunsong Fang: It is an honor to win the first prize in the Huawei ICT Competition Macau Network Track under the witness of Vice President Wanlei Zhou. We would like to thank the university for providing us with valuable opportunities and platforms, the teachers for their careful guidance and support, and the team members for their cooperation. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. "As someone who was still unfamiliar with computer networks when I participated in a competition for the first time in my sophomore year, with the clear and concise explanation of Associate Professor Zuobin Ying, I realized that networks are the cornerstone of computer technology. Gradually, my love for network knowledge has risen, and now this seed of love has borne the fruit of victory, which makes me extremely happy. I will continue to work hard in the upcoming competitions and studies, making this award experience the starting point for me to move towards the future.
Yinuo Zhang: This competition was a precious experience, which improved my theoretical knowledge and operational skills, and also earned me honors. It brought glory to the school and left a deep impression on me. I would like to express my special thanks to my teammates. The excellent results of this competition cannot be achieved without everyone working together and striving together. I would also like to express my gratitude to the university and teachers for their support and encouragement in our participation, which gave me the opportunity to learn and participate in this competition. Lastly, I would like to thank Huawei for providing us with the ICT competition platform, which allows us to learn more and gain more. I hope that the Huawei ICT Competition will continue to improve, and that City University of Macau can achieve outstanding results in the competition. I will also bring with me the valuable experience gained in this competition and face future challenges with a better attitude. 
Qiyue Yan: I am very honored and excited to win the first prize in this competition. This is a huge milestone in my academic career and the best reward for my hard work and dedication.
