FDS Hosts "FDCT & NSFC Proposal Writing Enhancement Workshop" Series to Boost Research Project Applications

With the rapid development of academic research and the increasingly competitive landscape of research funding, the Faculty of Data Science at City University of Macau recently organized a series of lectures titled 'FDCT & NSFC Proposal Writing Enhancement Workshop'. The event aimed to enhance the research project application capabilities of the faculty members. The lectures featured distinguished guest speakers, Professor Yong Yu from Shanxi Normal University and Professor Xinyi Huang from Jinan University, who delivered an online seminar focused on guiding and sharing techniques for research project applications.

The workshop was designed to leverage the expertise and extensive experience of the two experts to help faculty members gain a deeper understanding of the research project application process and master key skills for writing high-quality proposals. Professors Yu and Huang provided detailed explanations on various aspects, including project topic selection, research design, innovation point refinement, budget planning, and the nuances of proposal writing. They also shared practical strategies and advice based on their successful experiences in applying for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Macau Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT).

Successful application for research projects not only reflects the individual research capabilities of faculty members but also serves as a significant driving force for enhancing the overall research level of the faculty. This workshop provided a valuable platform for learning and exchange, aiming to further inspire the research enthusiasm of faculty members and elevate the faculty's research competitiveness. Participants expressed that the event was both informative and practical, offering clearer insights into the research project application process and equipping them with many useful writing techniques. Moving forward, the faculty plans to continue organizing similar events to provide more opportunities for learning and growth, thereby fostering more groundbreaking achievements in the field of research.
