Vice Rector Zhou Wanlei was invited to attend the Second China Computer Society University Presidents Forum

Zhou Wanlei, vice president of the City University of Macau, was recently invited to Hangzhou to attend the Second China Computer Society University Presidents Forum, and offered suggestions on how to attract computer talents at the special forum. This forum was held at Zhejiang University. Focusing on the theme of "Intelligently inspiring talents and promoting production and research simultaneously", more than 40 university presidents discussed new paths for computer disciplines to empower the development of "Double First-Class" universities, providing strong support for promoting the construction of an education power and paradigm shift in higher education.

Vice President Zhou Wanlei spoke in the discussion of "Special Forum 6: International Cooperation and Exchange under the New Situation", pointing out that Macau, as a window for China's opening up to the outside world, especially a hub for exchanges between China and Portuguese-speaking countries and an important node in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, has unique advantages in attracting the world's top computer talents. Relying on the institutional advantages of "one country, two systems", Macau holds high-end seminars to attract top global talents to gather in Macau, conduct in-depth exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign counterparts, and build a talent base in the computer field. Other guests who participated in the discussion included Jia Tao, Vice President of Chongqing Normal University, Li Jin, Vice President of Guangzhou University, Liu Qingshan, Vice President of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Yang Tianruo, Vice President of Zhengzhou University, and Zhang Qinyu, Vice President of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen).

This forum is hosted by the China Computer Society and organized by Zhejiang University. It adopts the format of "invited report + special forum". The forum aims to build a communication and discussion platform for university presidents with computer science majors to explore the future development of computer science and technology disciplines, including talent training, scientific research, discipline construction, and industry-research cooperation.
