City University of Macau and Griffith University of Australia join hands to promote international exchange in the field of data science



To further promote international academic exchange and cooperation, as well as to expand students' global perspectives and cross-cultural communication skills, City University of Macau and Australia's Griffith University have ushered in a new phase of student exchange activities. Initiated by Griffith University and strongly supported by relevant departments, this exchange provides a high-quality and diverse learning and interaction platform for students from both institutions.

On November 4, eight outstanding undergraduate students from Griffith University arrived at City University of Macau, where they will embark on a three-month study and exchange program. They will enroll in relevant courses, immerse themselves in a diverse teaching environment, and engage with faculty and students in discussions on cutting-edge disciplinary topics, further solidifying their professional foundation and enhancing their comprehensive competencies.

To warmly welcome the eight students, the Faculty of Data Science held a welcome ceremony in Conference Room A207 of the Administration Building and presented commemorative gifts. Prof. Zhou Wanlei, Vice President of City University of Macau and Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, attended the event to express his warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the visiting faculty and students from Griffith University. He interacted cordially with the students, offering encouragement and urging them to cherish this opportunity, explore actively, and learn from one another in a multicultural academic environment for mutual progress.

With meticulous arrangements by the International Training and Testing Center (ITTC) and other relevant departments, the exchange students will participate in a series of courses and academic activities to gain a comprehensive understanding of the teaching characteristics and research strengths of City University of Macau. Additionally, the Faculty organized sessions for meetings with supervisors to help students quickly familiarize themselves with the campus, clarify their course plans, and define their research directions and learning priorities.

Subsequently, the exchange students engaged in in-depth discussions with their advisors, who introduced the curriculum, research directions, and learning methods, encouraging the students to ask questions proactively and practice courageously. The exchange students also shared their academic interests and development goals, expressing their hope for a fulfilling and unforgettable learning experience at City University of Macau.

Finally, the Faculty presented the exchange students with exquisite gifts and made thorough arrangements for their study and life over the next three months. The University stated that it would provide comprehensive academic and life support to ensure the exchange students have a safe, enjoyable, and rewarding experience at City University of Macau.
