On the morning of April 18, 2024, the Faculty of Data Science of City University of Macau successfully held a special lecture titled "Some Personal Perspectives and Experiences on Trustworthy AI" in T106. This lecture is specially invited to be delivered by Dr Leo Zhang from the School of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University in Australia. Guests attending the meeting included Professor Tianqing Zhu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, Assistant Professor Chun Wang, Assistant Professor Chi Fong Wong and Assistant Professor Qi Zhong of the Faculty of Data Science.
In this lecture, Professor Zhang deeply discussed the safety, robustness and versatility of artificial intelligence. He emphasized that with the widespread application of AI technology in various industries, ensuring its safety and reliability has become an important issue that cannot be ignored. He also shared his research results on adversarial attacks, data poisoning and privacy invasion, as well as his achievements in different fields of software and hardware. In addition, Professor Zhang also discussed the new challenges that AI may face in the future development, including how to deal with bias issues in the AI decision-making process and improve the transparency and explainability of AI systems. His insights provided valuable insights to the teachers and students present. academic and practical guidance.
At the end of the lecture, Vice Dean Tianqing Zhu said that Professor Zhang’s lecture greatly enriched teachers and students’ understanding of the field of artificial intelligence and inspired everyone’s enthusiasm for research and practice of trustworthy AI technology. By holding such lectures, we provide students with opportunities to be exposed to cutting-edge technology and promote academic exchanges between teachers and students.
