With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, its application in the medical field is gradually becoming a trend. In order to give students an in-depth understanding of how AI can improve diagnosis, treatment and patient care. The Macau Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology held a popular science lecture entitled “Local Experts 2024 Enter Campus” in the auditorium of Pui Ching Middle School in Macau on the morning of September 19, with more than 250 teachers and students in attendance.
At the lecture, Associate Professor Liu Wenjian, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Data Science at the City University of Macau, was the keynote speaker. He reviewed the development of AI technology, introduced industry leaders, and discussed the history and evolution of AI in the medical field. He focused on the advantages of AI in clinical applications, especially in terms of precise diagnosis, and discussed in depth how to improve diagnosis and treatment efficiency through image recognition and genomics. In addition, Associate Professor Liu also discussed the potential of personalized treatment, revealing how data analysis can be used to develop targeted treatment plans to further improve patient health outcomes. This lecture has prompted students to think deeply about future medical technology and enhanced their understanding of the development of AI technology in the medical field.
In order to cooperate with the Macau Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology to promote the educational promotion work of local universities and secondary schools, and to enhance students' understanding and thinking about future medical technology. The Faculty of Data Science of the City University of Macau actively participates in related activities and seminars, introduces students to the latest developments in medical technology, and encourages them to think about how these technologies can be applied in real life.
