In order to cooperate with the development strategy of cultivating scientific and technological talents of the country and the Macao SAR government, the Faculty of Data Science and the International Training and Testing Center of the City University of Macau, together with the School of Integrated Circuits of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, recently held an exchange and training activity, organizing 22 students from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications to attend courses related to artificial intelligence and information security at the City University of Macau.
At the opening ceremony, Wenjian Liu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Data Science at City University of Macau, Fulong Yan, Associate Researcher at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and the leader of the delegation Ying Lu delivered speeches, hoping that the students participating in this training would have a new understanding of knowledge in the fields of artificial intelligence, data science, and information security through the guidance and teaching of mentors at City University of Macau, and apply the knowledge they have learned to their personal growth and professional development.
This training course is based on the characteristic courses of the Faculty of Data Science, covering fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, and information security. Students are encouraged to develop innovative thinking and critical thinking during the learning process, laying a solid foundation for their future exploration and innovation in the field of technology.
In addition to theoretical learning, students were also arranged to visit and learn from institutions such as the Coloane Power Plant of the Macau Power Company, the Macau Telecommunications Company, the Macau Science Center, the Macau Youth Entrepreneurship Incubation Center, and the Macau Cybersecurity Accident Warning and Emergency Center. They had in-depth exchanges with industry experts, learned about the development of Macau's electronic engineering and network fields, further consolidated theoretical knowledge, and improved skills.
A postgraduate student from the School of Integrated Circuits at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications stated that the course content of the supervisor at City University of Macau is rich and the teaching methods are attractive, providing great inspiration on how to combine classroom knowledge with their own learning. Through this training, he learned a lot of cutting-edge technological knowledge and deepened his understanding of the importance of information security in the digital age.
Another undergraduate student was deeply impressed by his visit to the Coloane Power Plant of Macau Power Company, where he witnessed the efficient operation of the compound cycle gas turbine generator and had in-depth exchanges with engineers. This increased his understanding of the future development of the electronic engineering industry and had a positive impact on his personal career planning and academic development.
