With the rapid development of Internet technology, network and information security issues have become increasingly prominent and have become major issues related to national political security, economic security, social security, cultural security and national defense security, and have received widespread attention. In order to popularize network and information security knowledge, the Faculty of Data Science of City University of Macau held a two-day "Information Security Day" from 12 to 13/04/2022 in the student garden of Taipa Campus yesterday to increase the awareness of network security prevention among teachers and students.
Multiple booths were set up at the event. Master students from the Faculty of Data Science gave keynote speeches on how to analyze user behavior in backend logs, how phishing emails bring Trojan horse traps, how criminals capture data and analyze passwords, etc. During the demonstration, Assistant Professor Zuobin Ying should be on hand to provide guidance. They provided detailed answers to the questions raised by teachers and students one by one, guiding everyone to identify telecommunications network fraud and avoid leaking sensitive personal data. In addition, there are many exhibition boards on site, with pictures and texts on various topics such as laws and regulations related to network security, personal computer data security protection technology, and personal mobile device security protection.
Assistant Professor Wenjian Liu, Coordinator of the graduate Programme of the Faculty of Data Science, organized students from the Data Science doctoral program to visit the event. Students from other Faculties were also attracted by the event and came to learn more about it. Teachers and students on site said that the promotional content of this event was close to daily life and was very meaningful. Through the event, they had a better understanding of possible network and information security risks in life, and further enhanced their awareness of network security prevention.
