In order to better prepare students of the Bachelor of Science in Intelligent Technology and Services for their future job hunting, the Faculty of Data Science of City University of Macau held three workshops in March. The first two sessions were on resume writing, and the last session was on interview skills. External experts Mr. Guojie Xu and Ms. Meiling Zhong were invited to provide students with practical employment skills and guidance. These workshops are designed to provide students with concise and powerful resume writing skills and to help students better understand interviewing techniques and strategies.
Among them, the first two sections of resume writing introduce how to write a concise and powerful resume. This includes how to accurately describe your skills and experience, how to emphasize your achievements, and how to be focused and clear when promoting your abilities and experience. And how to make yourself stand out on your resume. In addition, students learned how to use keywords to get their resumes featured in recruiters’ search results.
The last section is about interview skills, and experts share some practical tips, including how to prepare for interviews, how to answer questions proactively, how to maintain a good relationship with the interviewer, and more. They also remind students to pay attention to various details during interviews, such as posture and body language, and how to ask appropriate questions to the interviewer.
Haoran Li (fourth year, Bachelor of Intelligent Technology and Services) said that this activity gave him a clearer understanding of how to write an impressive resume and how to effectively present himself in interviews. "I learned a lot from the experience of these mentors, which helped me feel more confident and secure in my future employment," he said.
The entire workshop gave students a deeper understanding of how to write resumes and interviews, learned some practical skills, and applied these skills to real situations. Through this successful workshop, students became more confident and confident in their employment process, which also reflects the college's long-standing desire to support students' all-round development and growth.
