The Faculty of Data Science successfully held the second "Go Green" staff gathering for the 2025-2026 academic year on October 15 at the Cultural Centre Exhibition Hall on the Taipa Campus. The event brought together faculty and staff from various university departments. Through enriching research achievement exhibitions, interactive booth games, and exquisite refreshments, the gathering further strengthened camaraderie and collaboration among colleagues.
At the beginning of the event, rector Jun Liu delivered a warm address, expressing high recognition for the dedication and outstanding achievements of all staff over the past year. He emphasized the significant contributions of the Faculty of Data Science to the overall development of the university. Rector Liu encouraged everyone to continue upholding a spirit of innovation and a positive attitude, working together to advance the Faculty and the University towards continued progress and prosperity.
Following this, Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, Professor Wanlei Zhou, shared his remarks, reviewing the faculty’s recent notable accomplishments in academic research, teaching, and student development. He sincerely thanked the faculty and students for their collective efforts. Vice Rector Zhou encouraged everyone to continue leveraging the power of teamwork, contributing more wisdom and strength to the innovation and development of City University of Macau.
The venue featured diverse research exhibitions and interactive booths, showcasing the outcomes of several cross-disciplinary collaborations, including:
- "Digital Heritage: AIGC-based Restoration of Kraak Porcelain" in collaboration with the Faculty of Innovative Design of CityU.
- "Introduction to Smart Eye Health and WHOEyes App Experience" jointly developed with the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA) at the University of Melbourne, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University, and the School of Optometry at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
- "ZhiChain" Companion Reading Platform and "IELTS Speaking Trainer" developed by faculty teachers and students.
- "Meowories" Pet Care Mini-Program and "Solar System VR Immersive Experience" developed by faculty teachers and students.
- "AI-Optimized Presentation Platform for Academic Staff" developed by faculty teachers and students.
Additionally, the event featured a prize quiz and a variety of exquisite refreshments. The atmosphere was warm and lively, providing a relaxed environment for staff to interact and network. Not only did participants enjoy a pleasant time, but the event also demonstrated the Faculty of Data Science's cohesive team culture, built on shared consensus and the pursuit of excellence.
