Instructions for transferring to courses in the Faculty of Data Science


Students who plan to apply to transfer to the " Bachelor of Intelligence Technology and Services Programme " or " Bachelor of Computer Science Programme " of the School of Data Science, please note the following application instructions: 

Application time: from now until July 26, 2024 

Application conditions: Please refer to the relevant regulations on [Transfer Programme] in the University Undergraduate Handbook 

 

  1. 1. For the Bachelor of Intelligent Technology and Services Programme, it is recommended that applicants have a minimum GPA of 3.0; 

  1. 2. For the Bachelor of Computer Science Programme, it is recommended that applicants have a minimum GPA of 3.7;

Application method: 

 

  1. 1. Students of the Faculty of Data Science should email application documents to fdsinfo@cityu.edu.mo and fdsba@cityu.edu.mo and submit hard copies of documents to the school office; 

  1. 2. Students from other faculties should submit the transfer form to their respective faculties. 

 

Assessment scope: 

 

  1. 1. Written examination: 

  • Bachelor of Intelligent Technology and Services: Mathematics, English. 
  • Bachelor of Computer Science: Mathematics, English, Introduction to Computer Science. 

  Exam subject description: 

  • Mathematics: Basic mathematics related to computer science (such as engineering mathematics, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, probability theory). 
  • English: General basic English 
  • Introduction to Computer Science: Basic knowledge related to computer science 
  1. 2. Interview: The interviewer will ask questions about the application plan and basic professional knowledge. 

 

Admission criteria: 

1. The faculty will adopt a merit-based admission method. 

2. After the applicant is admitted, he or she must generally start studying in the freshman year. If there are many subjects that can be exempted and the students have excellent grades, arrangements can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
