The 14th ‘Challenge Cup QinChuangYuan Platform National College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition ational Final was held from 29 October to 2 November at Xi'an Jiaotong University. The competition is a guiding, exemplary, practical and popular entrepreneurial exchange activity organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Association for Science and Technology, the All-China Students Federation, and the Municipal People's Government
This year's competition gathered more than 390,000 innovation and entrepreneurship projects from more than 2,700 universities in more than 60 countries, and more than 3 million students participated in the competition. 839 projects from 412 mainland universities and 14 international universities entered into the final evaluation of the national final after the preliminary competition at the school level, the provincial level, and the preliminary evaluation of the national final.
After fierce competitions, six students from the second year of the Faculty of Data Science co-organised by the City University of Macau and the Minzu University of China , Li Dongxiao, Tian Xingyuan, Xie Yizhe, Zhang Xinyue, Chen Ruinan, and Chang Shangxu from the Hainan International College of Minzu University , under the guidance of the assistant professors from the faculty of Data Science, namely, Jing Fengshi, Qi Minfeng, and Zhang Lefeng; and the deans from the School of Information Engineering of Minzu University, Weng Yu, and the teachers from Hainan International College, Liu Ying. The project ‘Light of the Heart: Cardiac Imaging and Image Segmentation and Recognition System’ stood out from the rest and was awarded the Silver Prize in the main competition.
This project effectively solves the three main technical difficulties in cardiac imaging: key frame extraction, blood vessel segmentation, and clogged blood vessel prediction. In this project, three core AI models are opened and tested: the independently improved SVS-Net is used to accurately extract key frames from the imaging video; the local adaptive YOLOv8 architecture based on fine-tuning and pioneering attention-head technology is added to achieve highly efficient blood vessel segmentation; and the fine-tuning-optimised Diffusion model image generator improves the image quality and at the same time uses the Diffusion model to predict and supplement the missing blockages. The Diffusion model can be used to predict and supplement missing and blocked blood vessels, providing doctors with more comprehensive diagnostic information.
The competition is based on the entrepreneurship programme, from the perspective of practical education, to guide and encourage students to carry forward the spirit of the times, grasp the pulse of the times, through the launch of extensive social practice, profound social observation, and constantly enhance the understanding of the state of the nation, social conditions and people's conditions, the knowledge and economic and social development of the close integration, to improve the innovation, creativity, innovation, entrepreneurial awareness and ability to enhance the ability to socialise, and to contribute to the development of a strong modern socialist country, and the construction of a socialist modernisation of the country. It is a great honour for me to win the Silver Prize in the Competition. As the youngest team in the main competition, this award is not easy for us to win in our second year of undergraduate studies, and it is a great recognition and affirmation of our work in the previous year's competition. ‘From the initial conception to the gradual implementation of the project, every step of the project has been based on refinement and practice. I would like to thank my supervisor, Assistant Professor Jing Fengshi, and PhD student Ren Hao for their careful advice and guidance, and I would like to thank each member of the team for their dedication and commitment. It is my greatest honour to lead such a team full of passion and motivation, and it is precisely through their selfless dedication and talent that we have been able to overcome numerous challenges and achieve great success by ‘competing instead of practicing’. It is through their selfless dedication and talent that we have been able to overcome countless challenges and make great progress.
