On April 20, 2023, the Faculty of Data Science held an academic lecture titled "Research, Application and Future of Graphic and Text Intelligent Computing and Reasoning" at the L105 Student Activity Center of the Sino-Portuguese Building. 

 

This lecture invited Professor Shuangping Huang, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Information of South China University of Technology, as the speaker. Based on the current background of the rapid development of artificial intelligence, he introduced current research from three aspects: OCR text recognition and generation, image and text knowledge extraction, and NLP. Current situation, challenges faced, research results achieved by the team and future scenario applications. 

 

By holding this special lecture, on the one hand, it meets the research needs of teachers and students to understand related topics and also lays a solid foundation for students' subsequent academic research. Our faculty will continue to actively carry out diversified professional academic lectures to enhance the academic ability of graduate students. This lecture was hosted by Associate Professor Wenjian Liu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, and Assistant Professor Zuobin Ying, programme coordinator of the Faculty of Data Science participated in the above activities.
