On May 10, 2023, the Faculty of Data Science of City University of Macau held a lecture titled "Macau under Climate Change: Past, Present and Future" at the Ho Yin Conference Center HG03, and invited Mr. Chan Seng Wong, Vice President of the Macau Meteorological Society Served as guest speaker. 

 

Mr. Chan Seng Wong briefly reviewed the climate change process of the earth over hundreds of millions of years and pointed out the necessity for humans to take timely action in the face of climate change. With intuitive data and images, students participating in the lecture can experience the direct impact of extreme weather on humans and nature. Finally, through detailed data analysis on how Macau's sea level and production and domestic water use will be affected in the context of global climate change, we call on everyone to take active action and contribute to protecting the environment we depend on for survival. 

 

Mr. Antonio Viseu Chairman of the Macau Meteorological Society and former Vice Coordinator of the Macau Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau, Assocaite Professor Wenjian Liu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, City University of Macau, and Assistant Professor Hoi Io Kong attended the above activities.
