Introduction
1. Programme background
The Master of Artificial Intelligence (AI) program helps cultivate AI professionals with a solid theoretical foundation, innovative abilities, and practical experience, meeting the needs of Macao and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. By introducing advanced concepts, core technologies, and application scenarios of AI, the program enables students to understand the applications and development trends of AI in various fields. Real-world case studies help students learn major AI technologies such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. The AI Master's degree program cultivates well-rounded talents with a certain theoretical foundation, programming skills, and practical experience in this field, fostering more AI professionals with considerable expertise and competitiveness, and promoting regional technological progress and economic development.
2. Cultivation Objectives
This master's program is closely aligned with the "Macao Special Administrative Region's Plan for Moderately Diversified Economic Development" and the national "New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan," aiming to cultivate interdisciplinary artificial intelligence talents with both solid theoretical foundations and practical technical skills, enabling students to possess the following core competencies:
- Possess a systematic understanding of AI theories, models, and frameworks, enabling the design of intelligent solutions across various fields such as healthcare, finance, and smart cities.
- Develop research-oriented AI experimental design and validation capabilities, allowing for model optimization and empirical analysis.
- Critically evaluate the interpretability, limitations, and ethical challenges of AI systems, understanding the interactive impact of technology and society.
- Master research methodologies and data analysis techniques to support academic innovation and industrial applications.
- Demonstrate cross-disciplinary integration and collaboration skills, enabling the development of high-quality AI systems or the publication of research papers.
